Warrior Flight Team Kicks Off The Marine Corps Marathon
Posted By Staff Writer
The Warrior Flight Team recently provided a ceremonial flyover for the US Marine Corps Half Marathon. The historic event ran throughout Fredericksburg and hosted an unprecedented 7,545 runners. The Warrior Flight Team helped open the event with a fly by of two aircraft; the L-39 known as "Vandy 1" and the historic P-51 Mustang. The precision fly over, at the conclusion of the national anthem, did wonders to not only honor the US Marine Corp, but also to motivate all the participants.
The Warrior Flight Team proudly takes part in events such as the Marine Corps Half Marathon to bring attention to its goal of caring for our nations's wounded veterans. Through scholarship opportunities in Warrior Aviation's "Wings of Opportunity" program, wounded warriors and their families can achieve the fulfilling and purposeful life of their dreams.
